Jari Love’s Get Extremely Ripped 1000 workout is an interval training workout that alternates three minutes of cardio intervals with one minute of strength training. The DVD contains two thirty minute workouts as well as a bonus push-ups and abdominal routine. From the main menu, you have the option to select one of the thirty minutes workouts, the complete workout that combines the two, as well as two premixes with cardio only and strength only options. The workout is adaptable to all fitness levels with modifications shown throughout the workout. Weight increments used by the participants is also displayed to assist with weight selection. A countdown timer is included at the end of each segment that counts down the remaining thirty seconds.
I have all of Jari’s workouts from the original Get Ripped! workout to Get Ripped and Chiseled. I was excited to have the opportunity to review her Get Extremely Ripped 1000 workout as I have always been a fan of Jari’s workouts. This workout is no exception. Once again Jari has managed to create a challenging workout. I am also partial to interval type workouts that combine cardio and strength intervals. This workout alternates three minutes of cardio with one minute of strength training. The cardio moves are built up showing an easier version first and progressing to a more challenging version. Beginners can stay at the first level while advanced exercisers can go all out. For the strength intervals, Jari selects combination exercisers to increase intensity and continue to keep your heart rate elevated. Some of the intervals include: alternating knees and side squats combined with biceps curl; L-hops and regular/prone lat rows; L-hops and squat with Arnold press; Charleston lunges and dead lift with biceps; jumping jacks and anterior raise with knee lift. This is a fun yet challenging workout that I enjoyed from start to finish.
