Workout Details and Review
Dance Off The Inches: Country Line Dance Party, set to be released on December 7th 2010 by Anchor Bay Entertainment, is the newest addition to the popular Dance Off The Inches workout series. Led by instructor Amy Blackburn, the workout is approximately forty five minutes. Amy is joined by two background exercisers, including Jennifer Galardi, who shows advanced modifications for some of the steps. The main workout is made up of three appropriately named dances: Scoot Those Boots, Ride ‘Em Cowboy and Brand New Boyfriend Boogie. The workout also includes a light warm-up and a cool-down.
As with all Dance Off The Inches workouts, Country Line Dance Party includes a step guide, a less than fifteen minute tutorial that breaks down some of the more complicated steps and combinations in the workout. Some of the steps you will see broken down include: Kick It Up, Sweep Step and Switch Stomp. This section is extremely helpful for beginners, to help them learn the moves, as well as more experienced exercisers so they can get right into the dances without any down time.
Dance Off The Inches: Country Line Dance Party is packed with a variety of country-inspired moves including shuffles, kicks and stomps. You will also find grapevines, scoots, scuffs, hip slaps, swing steps, hitch kicks, rock steps, heel digs and pivots. Amy teaches the workout in an easy to follow manner. She begins by breaking down a section of the dance before teaching the next piece. She then puts the pieces together for the complete dance.
Let me preface this by saying that I am a huge fan of country music; and while I “can’t dance”, I like country line dancing. So it came as no surprise to me that I enjoyed this workout. The moves in the workout are fun and easy to grasp; I had a great time ”dancing” along. While I will admit there may be too much ”hee-haw” and “giddy-up” for some peoples’ taste buds, I found that it added to the fun factor of the workout. Dance Off The Inches: Country Line Dance Party is a fun, low-impact, dance cardio workout that is perfect for those days you don’t feel like exercising but want to do something fun that gets you moving.
