Review: ExerciseTV Rock Hard Body by Jake Total Body

Rock Hard Body by Jake Total Body Workout Review and Details

Rock Hard Body by Jake: Total Body, with a total running time of sixty minutes, is a complete resistance workout that will challenge the entire body. Brought to you by ExerciseTV and Body by Jake, Rock Hard Body contains two workouts: a forty minute total body workout led by Marco Reed and a twenty minute abdominal workout led by Steve Maresca. In the Total Body workout, Marco is joined by two background exercisers, while Steve performs Rock Hard Abs alone. Modifiers are not provided in the workout. Equipment needed for the workout includes a set of dumbbells and an exercise mat for the abdominal routine. From the main menu, you have the option to play either of the individual workouts or you can choose the Play All option to complete the workout in its entirety.

In Rock Hard Total Body, Marco Reed takes you through an intense forty minute strength and endurance workout. In the workout you will find a variety of compound, isolation and plyometric based exercises for maximum muscle recruitment, ultimate fat-burning and muscle building potential. Working forty-five seconds on with fifteen seconds active recovery, Marco will take you through ten challenging exercises. He then repeats the exercises in reverse order before introducing ten new exercises and once again repeating them in reverse order.

In Rock Hard Body Abs, Steve Maresca provides a challenging twenty minute abdominal routine. In the workout, Steve hits the abdominals from every angle targeting lower abs, upper abs and obliques. With a mix of traditional crunches, plank work and core focused exercises, the workout will challenge the abdominals while also increasing endurance.

Rock Hard Body by Jake: Total Body is a great full body strength and abdominal workout. Each of the workouts included on the DVD is challenging and thorough. Both of the instructors do a great job motivating and encouraging the exerciser, cuing and demonstrating the moves and explaining good form.

Great review Maria, I like all of the instructors from Exercise Tv. I had seen this dvd advertised on Exercise Tv and was always curious to see what it was like. I like that the ab section is separate because I usually include ab and extra stretch work on a separate day to resistance and cardio workouts.

I’ve done Marco’s portion and it’s tough! I liked his instructing style, too.

I wonder why they didn’t put Steve’s other Rock Hard Body workout on this DVD. He uses a ball in it and it’s about 40 mins long. I’ve done them all. I was hoping they were all on 1 DVD but I will see how I can get Steve’s ball routine bc I already have Marcos as a download (I just had downloads).
