Physique 57 Volume 2 Details and Review
Physique 57 is the New York City based fitness program known to be one of Kelly Ripa’s favorite workout routines. Take one look at her amazing physique and you’ll know why Physique 57 has gone from a small workout studio in New York City to one of the most popular fitness series to make it to DVD. Since creating the first DVD set in 2009, multitudes of people have been using Physique 57 and achieving tremendous results. With Studios now open in New York and California, and avid fans begging for more, Physique 57 has recently released the second edition to their popular body sculpting program.
Physique 57 is a focused total body cardiovascular exercise program, using a ballet barre and your body weight, that delivers isometric and isotonic movements, complemented by orthopedic stretches, and through dynamic exercises, overloads the muscles and stretches them for relief. It is this process of interval overload that causes the muscles to respond. The workout is designed to tone your body and improve your strength and posture. Physique 57 targets your glutes, abdominals, thighs and arms; it strengthens your core, legs and back. The Physique 57 technique was created by Tanya Becker, who has an extensive training background with world-famous ballerina Lotte Berk. Tanya was also a long time instructor of the Lotte Berk Method, before updating and fine-tuning the method to create Physique 57.

The complete Physique 57 Volume 2 workout program includes:
■Classic 57 Minute Full Body Workout – Second Edition
■Advanced Express 30 Minute Full Body Workout
■Thigh & Seat Booster 30 Minute Workout
Classic 57 Minute Full Body Workout – Second Edition is a, you guessed it, fifty-seven minute total body workout led by Tanya Becker. Equipment required for the workout includes a chair or sturdy piece of furniture, playground ball, two sets of dumbbells and an exercise mat. Two modifiers are also present in the workout, one showing beginner modifications and one to show advanced modifications. This full body workout begins with a warm-up, moves on to an upper body segment using the heavy and light weights, then continues with thigh and seat work before finishing off with an abdominal routine and a concluding stretch.
Advanced Express 30 Minute Full Body Workout is a thirty minute full body workout led by Tanya Becker. Equipment required for the workout includes a chair or sturdy piece of furniture, playground ball and an exercise mat. Two modifiers are also available in this workout for beginner and advanced modifications. The workout again begins with the classic Physique 57 warm-up and moves into some pushups and triceps dips to target the upper body. The remainder of the workout primarily focuses on the lower body with thigh and seat work and a short abdominal routine.
Thigh & Seat Booster 30 Minute Workout is a thirty minute lower body focused workout led by Shelley Knight. For this workout you will only need a chair or sturdy piece of furniture and a playground ball. As with all Physique 57 workouts a beginner and advanced modifier is provided. This workout contains the best-of-the-best Physique 57 lower body moves to really target the legs, glutes and thighs.
What would a great workout be without a sequel? Unlike most movie sequels, where the second installment never quite lives up to the first, Physique 57 managed to defy the odds. Physique 57 Volume 2 builds upon the techniques introduced in the original Physique 57 series and takes them to the next level. The sequencing and pacing of the exercises will help build endurance while also providing a cardiovascular benefit. The music in the workouts is enjoyable and inspires you to work harder. Though Shelly and Tanya spend little time performing the actual workout, they do a superb job of leading the workouts, cuing the exercises, explaining the moves and advocating good posture. Tanya and Shelly do a fabulous job encouraging and motivating the exerciser while making the workout fun. To learn more about Physique 57, visit their website. You can also find them on Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
