Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 Review
Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30, released, consists of four progressively challenging twenty minute workouts designed to get you lean and “ripped” in thirty days. Each of the workouts is structured around Jillian’s shredding 3-2-1 formula. This formula, which consists of three minutes of strength, two minutes of cardio and one minute of core work, is designed to not only sculpt muscles but burn the layer of fat covering them. The workout also comes with a thirty day meal plan available online.
From the Main Menu, you have the option to select from the four workouts. Equipment needed for the workout includes a set of dumbbells, and an exercise mat, depending on your workout surface. Jillian is joined by two background exercisers – one shows beginner modifications while the other demonstrates advanced options. While Jillian joins in for many of the exercises, she takes on the role of trainer in the workouts, assisting the exercisers and pointing out form. Though the DVD advertises twenty-four minute workouts, they are closer to thirty minutes each with the warm-up and cool-down.
Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 is made up of four power-packed workouts. Each of the four workouts gets progressively more challenging. The thirty day program is designed to begin with the week one workout and advance systematically to the next week’s workout, with the week four workout being the most challenging in the program. In the strength portion of each of the workouts, Jillian uses multi-joint, upper and lower body combination exercises to efficiently target as many muscles as possible thereby increasing the calorie burn and making the most of the twenty minute workout. For each strength circuit, Jillian selects three exercises, performed for thirty seconds each, repeating the circuit a second time for a total of three minutes. The cardio exercises consist of high intensity athletic drills to get the heart rate up. For the cardio circuits, Jillian selects two exercises done for thirty seconds each and again repeated for a second time for a total of two minutes. The core work consists of two exercises performed for thirty seconds each.
Jillian Michaels Ripped in 30 workout is Jillian’s best workout yet. With four workouts on the DVD it is also a great value for your exercise dollar. While I am a fan of Jillian’s workouts, as they are super-efficient and provide great results, I was never a huge fan of her on-screen persona. I can honestly say that I love Jillian in this workout. Though she puts everyone through the paces in this workout, she actually had me smiling a few times. If you are a fan of Jillian Michaels and her other workouts, I highly recommend Ripped in 30.
